SGS Brookings, SD
SGS, the world’s largest independent seed lab, was growing and needed room to expand its operations. Building down the road from their current facility, they consolidated two existing facilities into one larger, more efficient building that improved their operations. The building is comprised of three components: a state-of-the-art lab for testing pesticides and fertilizers; testing area for seed and plant germination; and a office. The building is comprised of a steel building with custom tilt-up precast panels, accented with metal panels in the company color at the entry. Natural light flows into the building through a clerestory surrounding the testing area, and floor-to-ceiling windows in the flexible training and break area.
